Biographie

Née à Montréal en 1979, Farrah Lee éprouve une passion pour l’art durant toute sa jeunesse. Son expérience des cours d’art a suscité un grand intérêt pour elle lorsqu’elle était enfant. À l’adolescence, elle expérimente davantage le dessin et la peinture qui créent chez elle un important besoin de s’exprimer qui se poursuit encore aujourd’hui. À l’âge de 25 ans, elle vit une expérience extraordinaire. Elle possède sa propre école d’art, où elle dirige plusieurs professeurs et une centaines d’étudiants chaque année dans la poursuite de leur art et les encourage dans leurs efforts créatifs. Même si l’expérience lui est très bénéfique, le temps était venu de donner la priorité à son propre art. Farrah s’est donc appliquée de créer et de trouver de nouveaux moyens innovateurs pour s’exprimer. Depuis, elle a produit une vaste collection de peintures et en a vendu plusieurs à des collections privées à l’international. Grâce à son travail acharné et au soutien de son entourage, Farrah entre dans un nouveau chapitre de sa vie, débutant une carrière à temps plein comme artiste expressionniste contemporaine.

Biography

Born in Montreal in 1979, Farrah Lee was born and raised around art. Her experience with art classes as a child sparked an interest in her. She started experimenting with drawing and painting as ways to express her adolescence, a need that follows her even now. At the young age of 25, Farrah owned an art school and had the incredible opportunity to manage many teachers and hundreds of students each year. The experience taught her that, though she treasured fostering other’s creative endeavours, she needed to prioritize her own art and creativity. Farrah poured herself into creating new pieces and finding innovative ways to express herself. Since then she has produced a vast collection of paintings and sold several to private collections internationally. Thanks to her hard work and the support of those around her, Farrah enter’s this next chapter of her life ready to take the plunge and begin a full time career as a contemporary expressionist artist.

Farrah se passionne par l’intégration de couleurs vives et de coups de pinceaux énergiques dans l’expression de son art. Ne voulant jamais se trouver stagnante en tant qu’artiste, elle expérimente constamment de nouveaux médiums et trouve les moyens de se rapprocher de son amour pour la peinture acrylique. Elle utilise des couleurs vives et contrastées pour créer des toiles sculpturales qui cherchent à bouger et à inspirer. Évoquant une exploration onirique sous des formes abstraites, son expressionnisme abstrait est le langage par lequel elle communique ses émotions et ses expériences de vie. Farrah se trouve plus libre lorsqu’elle travaille à grande échelle, ce qui permet à son art d’évoluer et de bouger avec inspiration, véritable peintre intuitive.

Artist Statement

Moved by vivid colour and energetic brushstrokes, Farrah Lee is passionate about incorporating both into her art. Never wanting to find herself stagnant as an artist, she constantly experiments with new mediums and finds ways to bridge them with her true love, acrylic paint. She seeks out statuesque shapes and uses vivid, contrasting colours to create paintings and sculptural pieces that seek to move and inspire. Evoking dreamlike exploration in abstract forms, her abstract expressionism is the language in which she communicates emotion and life experiences. She finds herself most free when working on large scales that allows her art to evolve and move with her inspiration, a true intuitive painter.
